Coffee Buzz

As you may have read in my February Favorites I got the Ninja Coffee Bar and it's basically amazing. What's better than staying in bed as long as possible on a Sunday morning? I agree, nothing. Ha! I thought for this Slow Down Sunday I would share a delicious coffee recipe that I'd never have time for through the week. During the week I'm lucky if I can dash over to the coffee pot for a second cup (good thing I cut out milk and sugar during the week).

I'm a Starbucks girl through and through, red cup controversy or not. When I treat myself my favorite things to order is the Caramel Macchiato (with an extra shot). On this fine Sunday I figured out how to make one with my Ninja! If you have one here's the recipe, if not, I've also made one for without.

Ninja:
3 tablespoons ground coffee
1/2 1% Milk
2 tablespoons Caramel

Put the coffee in the basket, get your favorite mug, select cup size, hit specialty brew button,  while coffee is brewing place the milk and caramel sauce into the Ninja Easy Frother. Then, Microwave on high for 1 minute. Take out of microwave, secure lid and pump 15 times. When complete, gently pour frothed mixture into coffee and drizzle with delicious caramel sauce. Because it's Sunday and calories don't count today.

Normal way:
6oz stong coffee
6oz milk
1-2 teaspoon sugar (or more for taste)
1/2 vanilla

Make some strong coffee, add vanilla to the coffee grounds before brewing to infuse with flavor. Put the milk in the microwave, add the caramel to the milk and stir well, add coffee to your mug and slowly pour the milk mixture. Add some sugar if you like it sweet.

Now take the coffee in bed and stay there as long as possible because tomorrow is Monday.

Change It Up

You probably know by now that I love hosting but sometimes I catch myself making my normal go-to's and not thinking outside the box enough; like my Spinach Dip. So I've been doing some research on unique food and drink pairings for my next gathering. Because good hosting takes some effort. Leave it to Kate Spade to once again, totally nail it. I pre-ordered "All In Good Taste"  about five months before it's release date and it truly is amazing.

Here are a couple of my favorite pairings from this book:

-Martini & Swedish Meatballs (how could I not add a martini?)

-St.-Germain + Champagne & Sliders

-Minty Gimlet & Tomato Brushetta

This my friends is the winner! I thought the combination was so unique.

Minty Gimlet:

2 oz Vodka
2 limes
mint
1/2 oz Simple Syrup

Throw about 10 mint leaves in the bottom of a shaker, add lime juice and syrup, muddle just a tad not too much, toss in a hand full of ice cubes and vodka. Then, just strain into a martini glass. Or if you aren't feeling fancy add everything to a highball glass.

The flavor combination between these things was absolutely amazing!! The Gimlet was on the sour side which is right up my alley. If you like sweeter drinks add more simple syrup. I highly reccomend this for your next get together.

Have a fabulous Friday Pretties! xoxo

Pink Is Always In Season

It's no secret that I love shoes with a deep passion of my soul and...sole. Haha! In my post "Time For A Dip?" I showcased my fabulous blue shoes. Well I loved them so much I decided my life just wasn't complete without the same one's in pink.

Keeping this post short and sweet I've made a fast color guide for this fabulous pink color that will carry me through Spring. These are a few of my favorite pink color combo's.

  • Pink and Grey

I was also in need of a new scent to so that I can switch up my usual Chanel. I went with Lola by Marc Jacobs. I knew I liked it because I've given it as gifts before. I feel like it's a nice inbetween casual and dressy.
