Slow Down Sunday

I. Live. For. Sundays.

All week long I am in a constant state of moving and running. Life is busy for all of us through the week right? Working full time and also owning a busy photography company can be very taxing on MK and I. A lot of times this is my only day off. Because of that, we have a rule that we only break on rare occasions: no work on Sunday's.

Since most of my posts are fast this is going to be the one day a week that I'll feature something not so fast. "Slow Down Sunday" is going to be a chance to, well, stop and smell the roses per say.

So how about these Rose Potato's?! Easy, elegant, and great to switch up the normal boring potato side. Having said it'd easy I must say it is not quick to perfect these lovely buds.

Here is what you need:

  • 7 potatoes (or more just depending on your guest list)
  • 5-6 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs and 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 pepper

Here is what you do:

  • Wash and peel potatoes and slice them with a peeler into very thin slices
  • Combine oil and spices

  • Make a row of like 9-10 slices and brush with your oil mixture

  • Start rolling them but hold them tight
  • Boom! You've got a rosebud
  • Set the rose into a muffin tin, its possible that you might not have enough slices for the circle so you might need to add a couple slices so that the rose sits tight
  • Brush the tops with oil seasoning
  • Throw in the oven on 400 for 25-30 minutes- just make sure its golden.

For The Love Of Fall

Few things are more exciting than a new season! Especially Fall! I mean what is better than fabulous fun fall colors and pumpkin everything?!

I am always eager to jump into a new fresh start...

Fringe is a huge fall trend and I'm all too obsessed with these shoes!! Not only are they super cute they are fun to walk in too! A fall favorite for sure.

I've talked about these amazing gloves before. I got them when shopping in Rome. I wish I had them in every color that exists. There really is nothing like Italian Leather.

No fun fall outfit is complete without a hat! This is one of my favorites that I've had for years. It is one of my staple pieces for the cooler seasons. I always head to H&M for hats because they always have a great selection.

A Happy Closet

An organized closet is a happy one. I always say that my mood reflects my dressing room. If it's messy my life feels messy. Here are a few quick tips to get and stay organized. This time of year I always switch out my spring/summer wardrobe to fall/winter. Since I was off for two days in a row (never happens!) over Labor Day that is just what I did. Here is a little closet organizing 101.

There are three options that I would stick with:

By Color- All of my clothes that are hanging go from light to dark. That way, you can make choices quickly and when it comes time to put them away it's also rather quick.

By Season- If you have the space, it's pretty ideal to rotate your clothes according to season. That way, everything you are currently wearing is in one place. For me, I still pack away the season I am not wearing because I don't like for my clothes to be so smooshed in.

By Type- Pants with pants, blazers with blazers and so on. This is where if you are a little OCD it will make you very happy. Combine like with like and by color!
