The Return of the Brooch, and…

I’ve been blogging for 12 years!

I must say it’s been so fun getting to express my creativity in different ways. I love being able to share that with you and a huge thank you goes out to all of you who have supported me throughout the years.

Now, on to the real matter at hand. The brooch (yes I did google the correct spelling, haha)! It’s back in a big way. Did I overdo it? Of course. But, this is such a way to have fun with fashion. Get creative. Use a brooch to pin jeans that are too short. A problem I have a lot due to the legs. You can add one to a blazer or coat for extra pizzazz. For the opposite problem, I recently used one to pin up satin pants that had a drape that was too long. Here are a few ways I’ve worn one recently.

The point here is to adding a little excitement to an outfit! And don’t we all need a little more sparkle in these cold dreary months? Well at least those of us who are currently dealing with a winter tundra that doesn’t seem to be going away. That groundhog better say spring is coming or people will be out for blood. Anyway, I digress. Let’s get shiny huh?

Fall Fashion 2025

Hello, beauties!

It’s time for my yearly (a little late) Fall Fashion Post. Let me preface this by saying, as I always do, if you don’t like a trend…do not wear it! You have to always feel like you. So, if it doesn’t speak to you just skip it. Having said that, let’s get into my favorite fall trends this season…

1. Burgandy Shoes

Burgandy is always a popular color for the cooler months. This season, it’s about burgundy is all about the feet. Personally, I love navy and this deep color together.

2. A Cape

Yes, I’ve had this on my list many times before but anytime its “in”, I’ll put it here. For me, a cape is always in. But, anyway, it’s such an easy way to extremely elevate an outfit as a third piece. It’s giving Vampire Queen, no?

3. A Stament Belted Blazer

Blazers are always no fail but, add a statement belt, and it adds so much style to a simple blazer vibe. It’s an easy look to put together if you happen to be in a hurry. Also, look for my upcoming post about how to style this look different ways.

4. Wearable Wallpaper

You may have seen me in both of these pieces before, but never together. This season don’t be afraid to make a bold move in a head-to-toe look. Don’t be afraid of bold prints but, if you’re needing something more toned down you could also opt for a print like polka dots.

5. Leopard (duh)

1. Leopard has been “in” for a long time now and isn’t going anywhere. For me? Never. I may just request to be buried in leopard print. This one is of more of an example of a cool fall look that screams cool girl goes on a lunch date. It mixes casual and highbrow while still maintaining style. Chilly? Add a chic sweater.

6. Monochrome

No matter what color that you choose, a head to toe look in one color is so powerful. I went for deep green because of course I did. Green is my favorite!

7. Soft Pink

I’m a typical Gemini, just as comfortable in all black or the soft pink that seems to be just everywhere at the moment. If you don’t already add a pale pink pant to your wardrobe. It’s a very versatile piece.

Work Fit Two

Hey, hey! It’s another Monday!

Last week we shot our second dance studio so that means it’s another round of my “Work Fit’s”.

1. “Black and White and…Green?”

I really loved this outfit. I’ve had this shirt hanging on my “to be worn” rack for quite some time. I always kind of thought it was a shirt until I put it on and realized it was more of a shirt dress. To make it work, I wore it with tight and bike shorts since as I’ve said, I need to be able to move when I’m shooting. It was a very comfortable outfit for sure. It came with a belt but I always say (most of the time but now all) to get rid of the belt things come with and use one of your own. A cinched waist was what this outfit needed. I also felt like a black shoe was too predictable to I opted for a fabulous green croc booted heel. Silver jewelry since the belt was silver (a belt I’ve probably had for about 20 years). Black pearls and of course my black hat!

2. “Karl and Leopard”

For this look, I just got these pants in and really wanted to wear them. Again, very comfortable. I paired it with a Karl Lagerfeld shirt and used the red to accessorize. Did it bother me that the red stilettos weren’t the exact shade I needed? All night. But we won’t go there. I love this shirt because it’s all things Paris and fabulous. A black blazer made this a more professional vibe.

3. “Favorite of the Week”

I always have a favorite outfit of the week when I shoot and this one was unexpected. I’ve had these pants for a really long time and never felt the call to wear them until this day. I really like the how the left side of these pants has an extra piece of fabric to add a little fun and movement to the look. A black satin top, and my favorite gold platforms were what really pulled this look together. Gold and black jewelry were the finishing touch.

4. “Feelin’ Fun”

To be very honest I put this outfit together in about five minutes. When I build an outfit no matter how fast I usually start with the pants because that’s what I like most. You may notice a trend of flowey easy to move in pants. I love when there is a shine to them as well. Green and purple are complimentary colors so I felt like this was an easy and quick way to look put together. Gold stilettos for a pop, and layered jewelry tied this vibe together.

Until next week, when I’ll share what I wore in my daily life from grocery shopping to Valentine’s Day adventures! My goal? Sunday to Sunday but we shall see what the week may bring.
