Professionally Polished

Recently, I went to a networking event for my jewelry job. One great thing about where I work is that personal style is encouraged. After all, that is what drives the jewelry industry in the first place. But it is a wonderful thing to be able to put different outfits together every day. Sometimes exhausting but mostly fun. For this event in particular, I needed a professional but still stylish getup. The navy and cream was a nice change from the usual black. Also I'm telling you these shoes have saved countless ensembles!  They always add style no matter what the look. I think every woman should have a leopard pair of pumps in their closet. Trust me!

You can find these shoes at  DSW

So speaking of my style, allow me to give you a total inspiration to me. Diane Von Furstenburg! I've always been obsessed with her. So much so that my Mom gave me her book by DVF from 1977 (don't be confused by the bookmark). She was and always will be an inspiration to stylish women everywhere. As I've said I'm not too far into her newest book but so far...amazing!

De "light" ful!

Honestly, I wish I had even more time to cook. I wish that I could spur of the moment find a recipe and make it. Unfortunately, working until 6:00 through the week prevents me from doing that. Needless to say I've got to get my act together on Sunday and make a menu and shopping list for the week. If I don't do that then all week I am trying to play catch up with my meals.

By the time that I burst through the door anywhere from 6:15- 6:30 my head is already spinning about what I need to do to start prepping dinner. In a perfect world I could take my time and just hang out in the kitchen leafing through my favorite cookbook looking for a dinner to make. So instead I do this on Sunday's and even though I have a few books, Skinnytaste by Gina Homolka is my favorite. None of the meals are too complicated and they are all on the light side. In fact, every night this week has been a Skinnytaste meal. Here is a little peek into my daily life.

Monday was Buffalo Chicken Melts. Oh my gosh absolutely delicious! It's just as easy as it looks too.

Tuesday was Grilled Lamb which is such a nice change to the normal chicken or steak and the sprig of Rosemary is just the perfect touch.

Get Your Glow On

For about eight years I've been using these two products for my faux tan as I wish to not look like leather by the time I'm 35. But, I do prefer myself being tan, just one of those things. Having said that I've used a bunch of different things and these are my absolute favorite.

For Fast Tip Tuesday, it's all about the tan! Here a some tips for a perfect tan:

  • Always, always exfoliate before applying a tan
  • Wear loose black clothes after you apply
  • When you are at your desired dark moisturize twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night.

I use Fake Bake all over and I like Quicktan for touch ups.

So what if your tan goes wrong and you hate it? It's a very easy solution. All you do is mix Baking Soda, lemon juice, and a little exfoliate and it will be gone. You see, it evens out the PH of your skin.

Happy tanning! (the right way!)
