Easy Faux Pasta

I'll admit years ago, when I first tried Spaghetti Squash I was intimidated but it ended up being so easy and it's a staple of mine now and is quite perfect for a pasta fix with out an overload on carbs. The best part is that it's SO versitile! Use red, white, or pesto sauce whatever you want!

It's this simple:

Cut the squash in half. But be SOO careful! These buggers are very hard and I would hate for someone to chop off a finger because I didn't warn you.

Scrape out the seeds and middle.

Place the squash cut side down and bake in the oven for an hour on 400 degrees.

Let it cool for like 15 minutes and get a fork and pull the noodle-like strands from the cooked squash.

You can also cook it in the microwave if you’re short on time. Cut the same put face down with a little bit of water in the pan and microwave for 10-15 minutes depending on how big your squash is.

Often times during Lent I kick meat to the curb and only eat fish. But however you would like to dress up your dish have fun with it.

Here’s what I used:

Broccoli

Arrichokes

A dab of cream cheese

Parm cheese

Garlic and other spices

(I threw in shrimp at the last minute)

Mix everything together and put back into the squash shell. Top with a little bit of parm cheese and broil for about 5 minutes.

Then enjoy the goodness!

This is absolutely one of my favorite recipes for when I want pasta but not the calories.

Hey, if you look real hard you can see Friday in the distance…

My Type of Stripe

MK and I were a little under the weather this past weekend so our week got off to a rocky start. On the upswing now and ready to get into the Dior Word of the Week.

I’m my humble opinion, I feel like stripes are a huge fundamental of fashion. My favorite is the classic black and white but believe me I wear more than just that.

I think it’s hard to go wrong with stripes. They can be elegant or edgy too. Also, I think fashion has gotten a little more lax since the days of Dior. While yes, it’s still true to keep your shape in mind. Head to toe horizontal stripes without anything to break it up might not be the best idea but if you like it then wear it.

I love a good black and white look but I also love to throw in a color or something unexpected like a glitter pump. The point? Have fun with stripes! Add a floral pattern in there or even leopard!

Here is to hoping that your Tuesday goes fast, your coffee strong, and a little fun comes your way!

Sips and Scents

We finally made it to the weekend!

Is it just me or did this week seem like three? Which is why I’m so ready for a cocktail! It might still be winter but I’m thinking Spring with this drink.

Pear Vanilla Rosemary Cocktail

Before we make our fancy cocktail first we’ll add some zing to it with Rosemary Simple Syrup.

What you need:

Now for our cocktail!

What you need:

2/3 cup pear juice

4 tbsp simple syrup

2 oz vodka

ice

pear slices and rosemary for garnish

What you do:

Simply fill two glasses with ice, divide your vodka, and add two tablespoons of syrup to each glass. Then, add 1/3 cup pear juice to each glass. Garnish and enjoy the amazing smells!

So, since your kitchen now smells AMAZING from this fabulous cocktail I thought since I talked about perfume on Monday, that today along with my drink recipe I would also share five perfume hacks that I swear by.

747A7584.jpg
  1. Never have  your perfume in the bathroom. The steam from the shower will eventually ruin it.

  2. Moisturize first, your scent will stay longer.

  3. The best time to spray your perfume is right after the shower and before getting dressed.

  4. Perfume in your hair lasts longer but will dry out your hair. Spray your brush and then brush your hair.

  5. Spray tissue paper with your favorite perfume and line your dresser drawers with them for a better scent.

I hope your weekend is full of sweet smells and delicious sips!
