What You Need Now

Happy October my Pretties!

Starting at the beginning of each month I’m going to tell you five things I’m loving and what your closet needs right now.  These pieces might be on trend or just a great addition to your closet and fashion life.

1. Chic Flats.

It’s pretty clear I love sky high heels but when I’m running errands all day that’s a big no for me. That doesn’t mean you still can’t look chic AF while errand running. These are my current favorite for those times.

2. Graphic Sweatshirts.

These awesome sweatshirts are the perfect way to be on trend right now and also be cozy.

3. Over The Knee Boots

No matter what you’re wearing adding OTK boots will elevate your entire look. Get a more chunky heel for a more comfortable shoe.

4. An Orange Pashmina

Nothing screams October like an orange scarf. Rock it with navy for a great contrast or burgundy for a more fall palette.

I always love when a new month falls on a Monday! It’s like a major fresh start.

Enjoy the day!

Your Superhero Piece

I always like to start the week off with a hot (and strong) coffee and a good dose of fashion.

In my Fall Fashion post I talked about how much I love a cape look. It has been a fashion staple of mine for years but I have really been loving seeing the fabulous cape on so many runways for the 2018 fall/winter season. The cape truly does speak to me so I’m giving you five reasons to get on board with my favorite trend this season.

  1. If you like the coat draped over your shoulders look but actually need to move your arms the cape will let you do this and still look chic. No need to be worried if your coat is going to slip off your shoulders.

  2. It will truly elevate any look. Use it to dress up your jeans (like I did in my fall fashion post), or really kick your skirt or dress outfit up a notch.

  3. The cape is a great alternative to a blazer if you are looking to switch it up.

  4. Make your all black look a little more interesting. MK and I usually wear black to weddings when we are working and sometimes that can get a little boring. I mean I LOVE an all black look but adding a cape keeps it very chic and more interesting.

  5. Why not feel like a modern day superhero?

I hope your Monday goes by as fast as the weekend did!

Chic In A Rush

As you may know, I'm a pretty fast mover by nature but since having Theo I had to kick it up a notch. Usually caffeine induced but still. A lot of times due to a screaming baby who just wants held or spur of the moment plans I only have maybe 15 minutes to get ready and be out the door. So today I'm talking about five never-fail items to have in your closet so that you are prepared for these moments.

Chambray All Day

Without headed out in the usual jeans, these paper bag (my favorite!!) chambray pants are so versatile and always pretty.

Fun fact: I couldn't get my back shoe on here because of a hurt toe. Which is why I'm standing all kinds of crazy.

A Good Pop

I have posted these shoes a million times because I love them so. For me, adding a blue, red, or occasional pink pop to an outfit can really make it. Even if it's all black on those kind of days. I can't tell you how many times a blue or red shoe toally saved my outfit.

Trail Blazer

Be it a dress, pants or skirt, throw on a good blazer and some accessories and you'll look like there was intent behind this look instead of the truth which was me running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

Hopefully this helps the next time you find yourself needing to look good in a pinch!

May your Tuesday be short and your coffee super strong.
