Make It Sparkle

Normally I'm not a "TGIF" kind of person but TGIF!!!

To say the least this week has been totally ridiculous! With a boudoir shoot just about everyday and dance photos every night I don't even know where I am right now! It would be an understatement to say that I need a drink!

I love a fun and glam DIY. I love being able to look at something and say I did that, I made it something pretty. Having worked in jewelry I appreciate the high end pieces but sometimes costume jewelry is so much fun. While strolling through Hobby Lobby I saw this cuff and immediately thought how fun it would be to make it sparkle. I chose colors that will go with everything. Here is all you need to customize your arm candy:

-Cuff

-Chosen bling

-Glue E6000 (it's important you use this one)

-Now on to the cocktail! Notice a deep purple trend?

Now on to this delicious drink!

Add vodka, Triple Sec, juice, lime and shake!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend!

The Heel To Have

Happy Monday!

Since Valentine's Day is about a week away I decided to share my Vday outfit a little early and to say a huge thank you to Just Fab for these simply fabulous shoes. I've been talking a lot about spring trends and haven't mentioned which shoes are going to be huge! A block heel is the only one you need be worried about this season. Find these beautiful shoes here: http://www.justfab.com/products/Vasilenia-PP1719566-7915?psrc=browse:shoes:allheels

Over the years many people have asked me either for tips on walking in heels or asking how I stand in them for so long. So since today is all about the heel I'm giving you some of my tips and tricks on rocking them.

First do the heel test. Stand in your chosen heels and make your feet even with your shoulders. See if you can stand on one foot and not be too wobbly. Your abs should contract while you're doing this. So if your balance is good then you pass the test!

This one comes from my dancing roots but if you have to be in heels for a very long time (like when I'm shooting a wedding for 12 hours) tape your third and fourth toes together! You'll be shocked!

Follow with the heel. The reason people complain about the balls of their feet hurting if because they are putting all the weight there. Concentrate on how you walk and make sure you are evenly distributing your weight, You'll be able to be in them much longer doing this.

Side note: I've basically been completely obsessed with bodysuits as of late. Dress them up or down you can't go wrong.

Now get out there and own the week, in your favorite heels of course!  Cheers!

Trend Talk

Let's have a Friday martini shall we? For today's Martini Moment I'm talking Spring Fashion. I always like to get a jump on the upcoming season and what better time than to chat about it over a delicious cocktail?

That fuzzy rodent might have said more Winter but I'm thinking Spring! It's always so exciting because well lets face it we are all ready to get out of th cold. Let's talk trends. I've already covered that you need bell sleeves and a floral bomber or two.

Now, I'm so thrilled about this next one because I loved it the first time around (well first for me)  when I was young. Guys, The Bustier is BACK! Fashion insiders have already been rocking this and an easy way to do this one is to pair with a button down or a thin long sleeve shirt. I love it because it's just a little bit different. Don't be afraid to try it, just go for it!

One of the best and most classic martinis (thank you Sex and the City) is the Cosmo. Just in case you didn't know exactly how to make this fabulous drink here is is.

The Cosmo

1 1/2 oz citrus vodka
3/4 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec
3/4 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice

Add vodka,  Cointreau or Triple Sec, and juices to your cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Garnish with lime. Tada! Perfect Cosmo.
