Time To Suit Up

I've really been into suits lately and this one is no exception. It was a very gloomy day and I felt it needed some color.  The pattern of this suit makes me so happy! Pairing it with my fancy red heels really made the look. I was having not the best hair day so a sock bun had to do. But thats ok because pearl studs always save the day. My handbag is Italian Leather from our trip to Rome.

So for Fast Tip Tuesday let's talk about the red lip. My quick tip today is to try different shades to find your perfect red. How will you know? The right red will make you teeth, hair, and eyes light up. The wrong one won't.

Have a spectacular Tuesday! xoxo

Hello 27

I spent the first day of being 27 making a list throughout the day of things I have learned in the roller coaster ride that was 26.

  • You won't always have to know the answer and its okay to ask for help.
  • Sometimes you think things like "2015 is going to be my year"...and when it's not, you hold you head up and know that you can deal with tough things. Those moments are when you find your strength.
  • There will be bad days, but they are only that. Tomorrow is new and it will be better.
  • Never, ever under any circumstances expect anyone to congratulate you on doing a good job.
  • Splurge every now and then.
  • Get a good iron. It isn't worth it to iron something and it not be perfect.
  • Look around at the good people in your life and be thankful for them.
  • Just for a second take a look back and see the people who are no longer there and understand the reasons. Make peace with that.
  • Stop "looking forward" to your next event and appreciate right now.
  • Be ready for change always.
  • Do squats. Just shut up and do them.
  • Invest in staple pieces, not so much on whats trendy.
  • Never have a day without a goal, even a small one.
  • Most importantly, love you. Your hair, your nose, taste in fashion, the way you wait till the last minute to do something. No one else will like you if you first don't like yourself.

I'm not going to lie I was a little freaked out to turn another year older but after spending the day with my Husband, family, best friend, and all the amazing people who love me, I am so thankful to be another year older and am beyond ready to see what 27 has in store for me. I pray that it is kind and full of much more life experience.

Also, Happy Birthday to Marilyn Monroe...where ever you may be.

A girl knows her limits but a wise girl knows she has none.

Get Your Grill On

Whoo hoo! It's time to fire up the grill! There are so many reason why I love preparing food this way. When it comes to food what's better than healthy, quick, and most importantly delicious? Here is my latest go to meal and you only need four things, well, five if you count the corn. Which you totally should.

Cook your chicken, add whichever pesto is your favorite (for this I added basil pesto), then spread on your cheese. I used Creamy Mozzarella Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil by The Laughing Cow. I used two wedges and it's only 35 calories for each. If you haven't tried this amazing cheese yet I highly reccomend it! Now add some fresh tomato, close the grill lid for about 5 minutes and enjoy!

I am about to give you a tip that totally changed my life for cooking corn on the cob. About  year or so ago MK and I were hanging out at our friends lake house eating some amazing food. This is when someone told us about making corn in the microwave. All you do is cut off the large end of each corn (not shucked) and put it in the microwave for 3 minutes per cob. Then, just squeeze the corn out of its shell, no shucking ever required! Try it. You won't regret it.

Happy Grilling! xoxo
