Fabulous Fall Fashion

Happy Friday All!

I haven't always appreciated the four seasons where I live. When I was younger all I cared about was the warm weather and swore I'd move one day. Well thank goodness I didn't. The older I got the more I came to appreciate and love snowstorms and of course all things Fall. One thing I've always, always loved was Fall Fashion. Every August I do a post about the things I'm just loving for the fall/winter season. So here they are. I hope you enjoy!

1. Animal Print

You've seen this one on my Insta. Even though this is a trend that I wear if it's "in" or not, I'm LOVING seeing it everywhere even more. Mostly in coats but add any animal print to your look this fall and you'll be so on point.

2. Capes

3. The high waist and MOM JEANS

I'll just be here prancing in the vineyards feeling like a superhero. But seriously this is easily my favorite trend this year.  Again though, this is one I rock all the time no matter if it's a trend or not. From Christian Dior to Fendi, capes were all over the runways. I love a cape outfit for many reasons but first, it's a great silhouette and second it's such a chic, luxe look without being stuffy (in my opinion). A cape really speaks to my style.

I talked about this in one of my Instagram posts. I'm obsessed with the high waist! And Mom jeans? YESSSS! Remember in the 00's when jeans were so low rise thongs would hang out? I'm looking at you Paris. Hey, I'm not saying that I wasn't one of those low rise lovers but let me tell you no more. The Mom Jean coming back is pretty perfect timing for me.

4. Yellow!

I've always been a fan of a dressed up, dressed down look. This fab tee from Missguided quickly became a favorite of mine. It paired super well with this long yellow skirt (also Missguided). The great thing about this one is that this color was on trend for summer so anything that you got for summer will translate perfectly for fall. Budget friendly! Just add a shaggy sweater to this look and you're ready for cooler weather.

5. Camo

"I saw Candy Heron wearing army pants and flip flops, so I bought army pants and flip flops." I so fondly recall the time (about ten years ago) when this trend was very real. Well now camo is back. This time around is a little more sleek. I paired mine with a bodysuit and vest. Play with some mixed patterns here like leopard.

6. Herringbone and Plaid

These are two great prints to pull into your fall wardrobe this year. I have a great Plaid jumpsuit that I can't wait to wear! Print mixing is also very on trend this year so these are two awesome prints to play with as far as it comes to mixing your patterns.

7. Ruching

Not only does this trend elongate your frame but it's also SO flattering on any body type. The ruching on the side of a form fitting dress or skirt is very forgiving (thank goodness). Side note: Mom Bod is so hard you guys. Uh.

8. Fur Accents

9.Tulle

FullSizeRender.jpg

Of course fur is in this season but it's all about a colored fur accent. Add this to pretty much any look for a little bit of glam and oomph! By far this is always one of my favorites for the colder season. If you're struggling with an outfit cause you're too tired or maybe cold? My go-to is all black with a colored fur. Thigh high boots, a skinny black pant, and a basic long sleeve black tee. Finish it with a top knot and you are good to go!

Few things are more girly tulle. I for one am loving this trend! The Western trend? Not so much. That one just isn't for me. But twirling in tulle! Yes please!!

I hope you enjoyed my Fall Favs! Have a great and stylish weekend!

These Are The Days

These are the days that we will tell our kids about, the days we will all too soon refer to as “the good ol’ days”. The days where we will say remember when we would sit outside and have dinner and just talk about our day as fresh cut grass wafts through the air.

There are many reasons I love to cook. Am I great at it? Probably not. Do I know what I’m doing? Only sometimes. But my main reason stems from something much deeper. Food is what you gather around as a family, as friends, as acquaintances that will end up friends before the nights end. Food is what unites us. Therefore, that’s why I love to make it and entertain a crowd.

Sometimes I love a challenge when it comes to recipes but the only challenge with this one was my baby who wanted held the whole time I was cooking. I thought it would be great to share my delicious chicken recipe with you. It’s healthy and easy.

Lemon Chicken with Herbs

1 whole chicken

1 tsp fresh thyme

1 tsp fresh rosemary

2 lemons (zest from one)

3 tbsp butter

1 tbsp minced garlic

1 small red onion

salt

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Mix together the thyme, rosemary, garlic, zest and butter with a little salt.

Put chicken in a roasting pan, cut up one lemon and stuff it in the cavity along with a couple onion wedges and a little bit of thyme and rosemary.

Brush the chicken with your butter mix, squeeze the other lemon over the chicken. Then just bake for an hour.

Enjoy!

Pair this with Sauvignon Blanc

Chic In A Rush

As you may know, I'm a pretty fast mover by nature but since having Theo I had to kick it up a notch. Usually caffeine induced but still. A lot of times due to a screaming baby who just wants held or spur of the moment plans I only have maybe 15 minutes to get ready and be out the door. So today I'm talking about five never-fail items to have in your closet so that you are prepared for these moments.

Chambray All Day

Without headed out in the usual jeans, these paper bag (my favorite!!) chambray pants are so versatile and always pretty.

Fun fact: I couldn't get my back shoe on here because of a hurt toe. Which is why I'm standing all kinds of crazy.

A Good Pop

I have posted these shoes a million times because I love them so. For me, adding a blue, red, or occasional pink pop to an outfit can really make it. Even if it's all black on those kind of days. I can't tell you how many times a blue or red shoe toally saved my outfit.

Trail Blazer

Be it a dress, pants or skirt, throw on a good blazer and some accessories and you'll look like there was intent behind this look instead of the truth which was me running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

Hopefully this helps the next time you find yourself needing to look good in a pinch!

May your Tuesday be short and your coffee super strong.
