Sassy Slogans & Red Hot Heels

Happy Monday!

Now I know most of you are not a fan of this day however there isn't too much we can do about it so let's make it a good one...with some very strong coffee of course.

There are a few trends that I'm totally loving right now. Graphic sweatshirts and red shoes. Before I go any further, trend or not I'm on board with both of these all the time. But, a lot of times I want to be comfortable or now a days don't have much time to change.

I'm sure you've seen the many, many Instagram accounts with the sassy slogan sweatshirts.  I can't help but love a snappy worded shirt. My favorite Insta account is "Coffee In The Shower" (something I've been known to do as well, haha.) I've followed them forever and have a couple of their sweatshirts. This one is my newest. Who doesn't love champagne for breakfast? I feel like it's an old way of thinking that sweats are only for lounging so here is a way to elevate your slogan sweats so that you can feel free to wear it wherever your feet may take you.

Even though I've got spring fashion on the brain, we've still got a couple more months of winter and what a better way to warm up than with some red hot heels? These fab booties are of course from JustFab and I'm obsessed! It takes your casual look up a couple notches! Add leopard and champagne and you're in business!

It's Monday, we're tired. So here is to hoping that your Monday is good and your coffee (or champagne) is very very strong.

What's Old Is New

Cheers to Friday everyone! We made it!

At the end of this hard yet wonderful week, Mamma needs a drink! I have a whole new appreciation for stay at home Moms. I wouldn't give it up for the world but holy cow. Hats off to you who tend to the kids all day. When my Apple Watch says I've taken 15,000 steps I believe it because by 8pm I'm a total zombie that probably has baby puke on her. But that's totally okay with me.

Nothing is better than celebrating Friday than with a new delicious drink recipe! One thing that MK and I love to do is sit in our bar and make different kinds of drinks. He's a total Bourban Buff so he asked me to find a drink to make with Rye Whiskey. I happily obliged since when we went on our whiskey trip last March I really liked Rye. Now that whiskey has become "trendy" again this drink is anything but old news. We made Rye Old Fashioneds and talked the night away.

Rye Old Fashioned

(makes 2 drinks)

- 2 sugar cubes

- 10 dashes of bitters

- 4 orange peels

- 4 shots Rye whiskey

Drop sugar cubes into martini shaker, add bitters and muddle until almost dissolved. Add ice, two orange peels and whiskey and stir. Strain into glasses and garnish with leftover orange peels.

We hope you like this recipe as much as we did! Have a wonderful weekend!

A Good Start

Many have started the year out on a diet or just trying to improve their lifestyle. Sometimes eating healthy can be really daunting and don't know where to start. This is a really good option that I've been just loving. On Sundays I always meal prep mostly because I have to have everything ready to eat at a moments notice when Theo falls asleep. I wanted to share with you what I've been eating for lunch lately. This dish is a great go-to as you can switch up the ingredients to make it what you like.

As you can see I used:

Cherry Tomato's

Avocado

Cucumber

Quinoa

Red Onion

Shrimp

I love simple recipes! Feel free to tweak this as you see fit. That's the best part it's super versitile! Swap the shrimp to chicken or steak for your protein or the Quinoa for brown rice. I'm currently not eating meat so that's why you'll be seeing more meatless and seafood in my recipes here.

So if you don't know exactly what do to first with healthy eating this is a pretty good place to start.

Enjoy your Tuesday!
