Spilling The Beans

Ahhh taking a little blogging break was much needed for sure!

Well we are finally spilling the beans! Baby Kilgore is due early December! The month of May sure did turn out a lot differently than I thought it would. We were supposed to go to Venice, Italy (and Milan) and after finding out the news we decided not to go. I mean why go to Italy and not be able to drink wine? Okay, we had better reasons than that but still. The blogging break was much needed as I was so exhausted I could hardly lift my head off the pillow, let alone do other things. But there is no better birthday gift than now being so close to my second trimester! Whew!

When we were coming up with ideas on an announcement photo I thought it would be hilarious to use my Dad's canoe since the gondola ride down the canals of Venice will have to wait. So my sweet Dad helped us create this photo and eased my nervousness of flipping over in the water.

The icing on the cake is that throughout our many travels we've picked up baby items for when the time came. Once in Rome, we picked up these jackets. Little did we know at the time they would be a big part of our baby announcement.

So here is to my 29th year. I have a feeling it's going to be pretty good. Cheers (with my Ginger Ale, of course) I'm excited to finally be able to share the news with you!

Jumping Into Spring

When MK and I bought our house, there were a lot of things to think about and look at. Since it was October when we decided to make the move one thing we wern't thinking about was the massive amount of landscaping that came with this house. We will be here two years in th Fall and we still haven't had a chance to tackle all of it.

We love being outside and when the weather breaks we can't wait to get outside. You have have seen this K in some of my posts. This was our last year project and I'm finally around to showing you how we did it. We wanted something a little different besides flower after flower so we came up with the idea to do a "K" in our mulch. You don't need a lot of landscaping to personalize your yard. Maybe just a smidge of patience. Which is exactly why MK did most of it.

On to this cozy dress and my latest project. As you know I love to cook and there is nothing like cooking with fresh ingredients. I call this my "Cookin' Box". All the herbs I need to get busy in the kitchen. It's an easy project that is so worth doing. Simply choose your favorite herbs to cook with. I picked Basil (my favorite!), Thyme, Rosemary, and Dill. I keep my herb box in the sunroom so it gets plenty of light.

On to the dress. This JustFab number is so perfect for being outside in the garden or sipping some drinks with friends on the patio. Throw some heels on to dress it up or forget the shoes all together and be barefoot and fancy free in this beautiful spring weather!

Enjoy your Monday pretties! It's going to be beautiful!

Fluffy & Fizzy

Happy Friday!!

Most of the time Runway looks are a little out there and hard to wear in daily life. Having said that today's Martini Moment is how you can add this easy to wear runway wardrobe with this amazingly fast and simple DIY. Head to Hobby Lobby or your favorite craft store and buy some marabou. It might cost you all of five dollars. So the part I loved about this is that I took a pair of sandals that I haven't worn in like 7 years and repurposed them.

All you do is get out your hot glue and go back and forth with the fluff. Bam! In about 10 minutes you've got an inexpensive hot new trend. Thanks Kylie Jenner! Haha kidding. But really she does have a pair.

Well it is Friday after all and I'm in the mood for champagne! This is a very easy recipe!

Elderflower Champagne Cocktail

Dry Champagne

St. Germain

 Thinly sliced cucumber

Mint

Lightly muddle cucumber and mint in desired glass, fill 3/4 with champagne, and top off with St. Germain.

Have a fabulous Friday everyone! Cheers!
