Ahead Of The Trends

Let me first start off by saying that I love summer. Not as much as I used to but the love is still there. But it is that time of year that if you’re into fashion then you’re looking ahead at the fall fashion trends. Don’t get me wrong I have every intention of soaking up every minute of this first summer with my boys but let’s do it with style! I’m sharing a fun summer look that you can wear now but still be on point for fall.

Print Mixing was everywhere for Fashion Week and I must say I couldn't be more thrilled as I love to pattern mix. Floral, stripes, and leopard is my favorite way to pattern mix. If you are unsure about it try just two patterns and a neutral piece.

 I don't know about you but I need alllll of the coffee today. Here's to hoping this Tuesday brings us some positive vibes and some strong java.

DK's Favorite Trends

I don't know about you but I'm ready for a fresh start this week!

Even though I was on vacation, my blogger self certainly wasn't. We traveled to Key West and Marathon Florida for my 30th birthday. Those of you who know me know that I have a fabulous Aunt that has lived there for many, many years. Marathon feels very much like a second home so we thought it would be more than appropriate to make that Theo's first trip. More on that part of our trip Friday.

Back to my Aunt. She and her also fabulous friend Donna opened an amazing unique boutique that has just some of the coolest pieces! Every time I get a chance to shop there I am all over it. From basic cami's (which are to die for soft) to perfectly patterned jumpsuits there is something for everyone. But I started thinking from the perspective of owning a boutique and how their personal style and current fashion favorites influence what goes in the store. So I thought I would ask.

What is your favorite current trend?

Their answer:

Statement earrings (check out Donna's!), bell and ruffle sleeves, and pants with prints.

It was great hearing from people in the industry and getting to visit DK's Style Hut.

I love a great fast outfit no matter what the season but this summer jumpsuit is so perfect when you don't feel like thinking about an outfit or only have a few minutes for a quick change. Also for a loose jumpsuit, add a belt to add some shape to the look!

My Spring Favorite

Hello Tuesday! Thank goodness the weather is finally not awful. I guess we just needed May.

Even before it became a trend I was totally obsessed with the “paper pag waiste” pant. Especially after becoming a Mom. Not only does this awesome spring/summer look hide your hips if you pair it with a vertical stripe then it’s a twofor! 

Also you know I love all things fancy but that doesn’t mean everything you put on needs to be expensive. This is a super affordable look

I think we all know that Tuesday’s are like the worst day of the week so here is hoping that yours is short and full of good fashion. I mean the Met Gala was last night so let the super analyzing begin! Haha. Btw Versace killed it. Blake Lively was increadable!
