Au Revoir “Sunday Scaries”

Happy Sunday Friends!

I know I’ve said before how much I love Monday’s but on today’s rare Sunday Fast post I’m sharing what I do on this day to prepare for my week ahead so that all Monday is, is a fresh start. Don’t get me wrong I spend time relaxing on this day too but I’m a big fan of “eating the frog”. So here is my list of things that doing on Sunday that make Monday better.

  1. Clean the house as much as possible so that I can detail clean throughout the week.

2. Gather and organize laundry for Monday (my laundry day).

3. I take a look at my week and see what shoots we have so that I can plan dinner accordingly.

4. Take a little bit of time to decide what dinner will be. On nights where MK works late I do a slow cooker recipe.

If nothing else is going on that day we totally relax, enjoy the clean house, and watch Theo run around.

Confession: I still have a paper planner and love it!! Sure I have one on my phone that MK and I share but I’m still old school in the way that I like to write down everything for the week.

I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday and start your week off organized and clear headed!

Happy New Year, Happy Everything

Happy 2019 to all of you!

Dancing! I’m dancing into 2019 because I am pretty excited for it! Few things invigorate and inspire me more than a fresh start. Let me tell you a little of what my blog is going to look like this year.

First and foremost my “Fast Fashion” segment. Now this isn’t your fast fashion that is talked about in the industry as a no-no. Such as things that go right from the catwalk to stores like Forever 21 very quickly to capture a trend. (And by the way there is nothing wrong with Forever 21)  But my “Fast Fashion” is me doing a post on the faster side because who has time to read forever? Same with all of my posts. Nice and fast! Stay tuned for tomorrow when I really get into the fashion talk and what I’m focusing on this year.

For “Perfectly Plated” again with keeping this fast, simple, and often times fancy. Cooking with things I’ve never cooked with before and hoping to bring you great information, quick and delicious recipes, and hopefully lots of tips to make cooking less intimidating and much more fun.

“My Martini Moment” is going to be a wild card. I’m very organized but hey, I like to still keep things interesting. But drink recipes? Oh yes. And sometimes only that. But how-to chicness, yes to that too.

I’m thrilled to be sauntering into another year with you all! Thanks for stopping by!

Theo The Dragon

Happy Halloween!

Okay, if I’m Being totally honest October completely kicked my ass. Like in a major way. We completed our seventh room renovation, Theo is very close to walking so that means I can’t walk away from him for even a second. After hours and hours of that I’m beyond exhausted. He’s also teething so that doesn’t help. I had the worst cold ever and Contemporary Photography has been completely swamped to boot (last wedding this weekend). So all of that has me just so tired.

I started this as an Instagram post but it got a little long so I made it into a blog post instead. My little Theo Shane is a dragon this Halloween! I wanted to tell my story behind this:

My love for dragons dates far further back than Game of Thrones (even though I love GOT... probably because of the dragons?). Not only is my Chinese Zodiac a dragon but bonus the Kilgore Family Crest is also a dragon, and when I was little I was the owner and founder of “The Reptile Club”. Me and my friends would go down to a little pond by my house (Terabithia) and catch tadpoles and other activities of that nature. I loved my scaley friends, I even had a pet snake (Mr. Scaley) that my Mom and I caught.

Dragons had always been a fascination for me. I loved reading about them and seeing shows with them in it. When I was pregnant with Theo my best friend Crystal and I always called Theo a dragon long before we knew the gender. Mostly because of what I wanted to eat or how I was feeling we always said “ that little dragon...”. Needless to say there was no question as to what he would be for his first Halloween. I mean I was only a few weeks pregnant picturing my little baby dressed as a dragon. Of course we had to bring the now traumatized dogs into it to make three dragons and here I am in my very rightful place as The Mother of Dragons.

Perla Blue was 100% humiliated. Donatella is very much used to this behavior from her parents.
