Know The Lingo

Something that I am always striving to do is learn more. So as I've said my Martini Moment is all about learning and sharing something that I have learned throughout the week. Like many, I love fashion and everything that comes with it. But sometimes I will catch myself reading Vogue or a cool fashion blog and I'm like what does that word mean or I've never thought of that.

For today, I give you three fashion terms that are commonly used but maybe you didn't know quite what it meant. I even did a little shopping for you.

-Boiled Wool

I've heard this term before and never really knew exactly what it meant. It is fabric that is processed to be more dense and compact. Like a wool hat.

 -Epaulet

I think I see a DIY in my near future. It's an ornate shoulder piece usually on a military jacket. Here is an example:

-Dirndl Skirt

 [durn-dl]

Yea, I had no idea. But it's a fancy term for a full skirt that fits tight at the waist.

The best way to start a weekend is feeling enlightened and maybe even shopping!

Have a martini and a wonderful weekend! xoxo

To Drink Wine Is To Live

Happy National Drink Wine Day!!

Like we needed an excuse..

I knew I liked today for a reason. This wouldn't be my blog if I didn't acknowledge such a day. If you follow me on any social media or saw my last Slow Down Sunday then you know I like wine... a lot.

Let's talk ordering wine. I know it can be intimidating when the Sommelier or waiter comes to the table but first, don't be afraid to ask questions. That's why they are there. However, my advice to you is to hone in on a region. Of course, you'll have to do much wine tasting to decide what region you like. But this is a quick way to know what to order while still sounding wine savvy. For example, MK and I like Spanish wine. Our favorite is a Rioja. Don't get me wrong I basically like all wine but that's the favorite.

Luscious Lashes

Get ready to bat those eyes pretty ladies. Today's Fast Tip is all about the lashes and how to make them perfect. Here are a couple lash hacks that will do wonders! Sometimes when I am professionally doing makeup my clients will say "Wow I've never thought of that!" so I figured why not share some of my tips?

Right when you start doing your makeup put your mascara in hot water. It will come out more liquid and not clumpy.

Don't underestimate lash primer. Its worth it. Here is a great one:

If you don't have any, dust powder in between coats of mascara so that they will look even longer.

If you are rocking faux lashes but don't want a full on Kim Kardashian look all you have to do is cut the full lash in half and apply it to just the ends.

Many don't realize that you should coat the top and bottom of your lashes for more va-va-voom.

For this Tuesday, I hope your coffee is strong and your lashes are long! xoxo
