My Martini Moment

An Ode To Chanel

Helloooo Friday!

If I’m not in the kitchen then you can probably catch me in my dressing room. I’m always shopping- I mean er- reorganizing and such. I’m not going to lie one of my favorite things to do is be up there with a delicious cocktail and have a little “me time”. Weekends are the perfect time to do this for me. Don’t get me wrong many a times Theo is there with me, being his normal extremely well behaved self.

I feel it’s pretty apparent that Coco Chanel is quite an idol of mine, it should be (hence Colette Coco). I once read “The Gospel According to Coco Chanel” and had an even deeper love for her after reading it. I find her fascinating! So you better believe when I came across the Coco Chanel Martini I was ALL about it. I’m a little embarrassed for someone who loves to make cocktails and I never made one with St-Germain. This was the perfect oppertunity to make my first one.

“The Coco Chanel Martini”

3oz Coconut Vodka

1oz St-Germain

And that’s it! Throw it in a shaker with ice and pour.

What’s better than a fast elegant cocktail on a Friday evening?

Enjoy yours!

Feel The Fizz

Happy Friday Loves!

I don’t know about you but I’m feeling like I don’t really know what day it is. Can the holidays never happen on a Tuesday/Wednesday ever again please?

It was a very long nine months for this cocktail lover. I’m excited to be back making fun drinks. I only thought it was appropriate for my first Martini Moment of the year include a little bubbly. I love making all kinds of different drinks but if I’m being honest I always lean towards fizzy ones due to my love of Champagne and Prosecco.

Quick fact. What’s the difference between Champagne and Prosecco? Champagne only comes from Champagne, France and Prosecco from Veneto, Italy.

I like to bring you simple but still delicious cocktails. This one is no different. So easy, fast, and a little unexpected. I’m not typically into too sweet of a drink so I was curious how the Malibu would work with this. The lime juice and cranberry are a perfect balance for the super sweet rum.

What you do:

Simply add lime and cranberry juice, rum, and top with Prosecco or Champagne.

Then, garnish with a lime wheel.

Tada! A delicious drink in just minutes!

All I can say is that I hope you make it through the day. After all, tomorrow is Saturday and we can really start fresh on Monday, right?

Fizz & Fancy Feet

It’s true I’m all about the shoes…

Okay, and maybe the booze too. Well, I will be in December at least for now I’m going to vicariously drink through you.

I talked about feathers on Monday for my Dior Dictionary Word and wanted to keep it going because of my deep love for feathers. The runways have been completely taken over by feathers on feet and I am totally here for this fall trend! But from Valentino to Koché these pieces can come with a hefty price tag. So today, I’m sharing my fun and chic DIY to get on board my favorite fall trend for a very minimal cash.

I was just about to get rid of these shoes when I decided to give them another life. Here is what you need to fancy up your feet:

A pair of shoes (they don’t have to be a heel)

Four packs of feathers (mine from Hobby Lobby)

Velcro

A glue gun

1. Glue two of the four feather pieces together so that you have two altogether.

2. Decide where you like the feathers best and how they’ll fall and look.

3. Put together the small Velcro pieces.

4. Glue to the inside of the shoe.

5. Strut your stuff!

On to my drink recipe of the week! Guys, I’m in love with this one. My version at least. Very jealous of you who get to drink the non mocktail version. However, one of my favorite combinations is lime and strawberry and this drink has all the flavor!

What you need:

Fancy Cube:

Fill mold with blueberries, strawberries, lemon and lime peel.

Strawberry Simple Syrup Recipe:

3 tbsp finely chopped strawberry, water, stevia

This recipe is all about the syrup so don’t skip this step. Throw all three equal parts into a small saucepan and simmer for about five minutes. Strain into glass. Add in lime juice, vodka, Cointreau, top with your favorite Rosé, add fancy cube and lime. For the mocktail version just skip the booze and use Strawberry Perrier instead of the Rosé.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend full of fantastic fashion and delicious drinks!
