Roaming In Rome

Our next stop is Rome! One thing that always goes hand in hand for Rome is the architecture. No matter where you look it is a gorgeous array of beautiful buildings, famous fountains, and statues you only saw in your history books.

Local beer and pizza only made the experience that much better. Are we sick of pizza yet? Never.

In Kate Spade's book "Travel Colorfully" she recommends when in Rome, to buy a pair of colored leather gloves. Well, that is exactly what I did and I've got to say this glove store was my favorite! Just look at all of the colors! I went with green of course.

Sitting on the Spanish Steps eating Gelato and people watching was a pretty fabulous moment. Maybe not for the lady in the top left corner but certainly for us.

You can't go to Rome and not see the Coliseum!

A favorite thing that I noticed is Italians love to feed you. So when just ordering drinks they give you adorable canapés! All delicious by the way, just in case you had doubts.

We also shopped like crazy people here. Not only in just the stores we came across but we found this market too! MK loaded up on some of the softest sweaters I've ever felt and I got a Pashmina.

After an entire day of walking, shopping, and site seeing we were starving! Sitting in Vatican City, we enjoyed tortellini and linguini and were in heaven!

One more stop to go! Until next time!

Ciao Bella!

My first time in Italy won't soon be forgotten. This was our first of three stops in such a fabulous country.  The Cinque Terre, Italy is on the coast of the Italian Rivera and has five different villages. We made our way through Monterosso al MareVernazza, Corniglia, and Riomaggiore, only missing 1 of the 5 towns. Always leave something to come back for!

More espressos! Each better than the last!

One of my favorite things that always seemed to happen was when one ordered wine, the most fresh and amazing olives just showed up too.

The views here never got old. No matter where we ended up it was like I was watching the travel channel.

If there is shopping and good food to be had I'm there, and wouldn't you know we found both! This little market provided some really great purchases including some beautiful scarves!

You know that I've got to rave about the food as well! This was my first experience with a steak tar tare and it was different, unique, and so worth trying. MK opted for a pasta in red sauce and for myself, a garlic seafood dish. The seafood was the perfect thing to get since we were so close to the coast and there is nothing better than fresh seafood!

A fun fact about what became my favorite stop is that they make their own white wine that they do not distribute so you can only get it here. I'm not really a white wine person per-say but this Vino was to die for.

So when I saw this delicious morsel sitting in the window I obviously stopped. Yes, I did think it was only half of that when I placed my order and no, there were no leftovers.

I have a feeling we will be returning to this fabulous place again. Until next time Cinque Terre! Cheers!

On The Go In Monaco!

Today's Stop, Villefranche-Sur-Mer, but that wasn't the only place we visited in this great destination. I sure am glad I had my walking shoes on for this one because we went a little bit of everywhere!

We didn't spend too much time in Villa France at first, we headed directly to the train station and jumped on like a local. I was ready to go to Monaco! This was once place I was just dying to see! The fact that it was involved in the popular TV show "Gossip Girl" may have had something to do with that. It was a breathtaking stop along our venture filled with high end shops and natives on Vespa's.

Of course we stopped for a Mimosa and took a look at all the parked Yachats. Just a fun little fact, Monaco is the second smallest country next to the Vatican City.

Clearly we just couldn't get enough pizza! I mean if ever there was a place to binge on pizza it's Europe. The thin crust and fresh prosciutto was just divine.

A stop in Monaco meant we had to tour the famous Casino Royal! Room after room was breathtaking, filled with unique paintings and beautiful ceilings, but unfortunately no photos allowed.

As I'm sure you know by now; us Kilgore's are always down for a little photo op!

Here we are in Nice, France! It was so unique with tiny streets filled with shopping and food venders. We also walked the beautiful stone beach. This was such a unique and beautiful location!

MK is enjoying his very giant beer I'm just thrilled for the fresh and perfectly seasoned olives! Okay and maybe a little ice cream.

Mk admitted that Nice was his favorite stop of the entire trip!! It was a beautiful place that we really fell in love with. Again, for me, getting to be in France was a dream come true.

Once more being a "Foodie" I was just at a lose for words at the options of more pizza! It was so hard to pick! You can bet that Mk's was not the one topped with fresh arugula.

Back to Villa France we went and were actually a little sad we didn't spend more time here because it was just such a cool place! We had some drinks, headed back , and smuggled a little Limoncello back on the ship.
