The Perfectly Placed Bow

Here is the outfit I'm starting my week in. This dress is great because it's lightweight and has just the right amount of character. It's amazing what a little bow can bring to the table.

Back again are the Gladiator heels! Get them in brown and black and you've got shoes to go with any Spring/Summer outfit.

Don't think I've forgotten about "Mani Monday". This season try a hue in the Orange family. Today, I'm testing out a peachy shade called "Hazard" by Sinful Colors. I love their shades because they are so vibrant.

Easy Gourmet

Don Draper from Mad Men said "Keep it simple but significant." I feel like that could apply a lot to life but I'll tell you, it really goes with this recipe:

Seared Scallops with Bacon, Tomato, and Avocado Puree

It's a very interesting Californian dish with different textures and flavers.

The recipe is by Elizabeth Faulkner at :http://www.yummly.com/recipe/external/Seared-Scallops-with-Bacon_-Tomato_-and-Avocado-Puree-Martha-Stewart (I changed mine a little)

  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lime juic
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium Hass avocado, pitted
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 slices bacon, cut into 1/4-inch-long pieces (I used turkey bacon)
  • 6 to 8 sea scallops
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 cup red or yellow cherry tomatoes, halved

This recipe totals about 350 calories. So not only is it decadent but healthy too. Treat yourself to this swanky plate to switch up your pallet.

To close out this week of fashion and organizing I've made a list of things I feel like every woman should have in her closet. They are :

-At least two black blazers. They have the potential of saving any outfit.

-Denim in light, dark, and an in-between.

-A Black and Tan trench coat. It might feel warmer than winter but let's face it you still need a light coat.

-Scarves!! In the colors you feel best in. Even when you are feeling crappy throw on all black, a colorful scarf and you'll instantly feel better or at least look a little better.

Happy Friday!
