Easily en Trend

Happy Monday to you all!

With Fall being just three days away I thought it was a good time to share two very easy ways that you can be on trend. You probably already have at least one of these in your closet.

I combined two trends here and they are very easy and chic at the same time. It might sound like a “no duh” piece but the white tank has been just everywhere and definitely continues into the cooler season. Great to layer with or use it as a transitional piece. Wear it in the day when its warm but throw something over it when it gets chilly.

But what should you put over top? A bomber!! This is def a look that can be dressed up or dressed down. To the pumpkin patch or out for dinner.

Just in case you needed a reason to shop or go through your closet and see what you’ve got. I have your back. Haha! Now let’s stroll into this week with a strong, hot coffee, and the excitement of a new season on the horizon.

Have a fabulous Monday full of style and I also hope it’s just, like, easy.

Godspeed.

Whiskeyed Away

Happy Friday, Friends!

In honor of my Husband hanging out in Kentucky, Land of Bourbon, I thought I’d dedicate this weeks “Martini Moment” to just that. I’m bringing you two very fast, very delicious whiskey cocktails. The first is a super easy Mule.

what you do:

  1. In a copper mug, add ice, bourbon (I used Weller Special Reserve) and fresh lime juice. Then stir.

  2. Top with Ginger beer (I always use Fever Tree), and garnish with fresh mint (taken from my patio).

    Enjoy!

    Next up…

Not that I don’t love a Mule, however, this one of the two was surly my favorite…

what you do:

  1. Add whiskey (I used Jack Daniels Single Barrel), lemon juice, triple sec, and simple syrup to a shaker full of ice.

  2. Shake, shake, shake!

  3. Strain into a glass also full of ice, and then add lemon-lime soda.

  4. Garnish with fresh lemon.

    Enjoy!

I had so much fun making these drinks. I usually don’t use bourbon when making cocktails but this reminds me that I should do so more often.

I hope you have a fantastic, fun filled weekend!

When It Rains…

Hello, Hello!

So, here’s what happened. It rained and I had to use up some mushrooms before they went bad. It was time to make soup. If you know me then you probably know how much I love soup. Like a lot. I threw this recipe together so fast, and it was the best!

what you do:

  1. Melt butter in a pot and then toss in the onions until nice and soft.

  2. Add mushrooms and spices, then let cook until mushrooms are also soft. Sprinkle with flour and stir.

  3. Stir in veggie broth and simmer for about ten minutes or so.

  4. Then add in your almond milk. I also threw about one tablespoon of cornstarch just to thicken it a little.

Now that I used up all of my mushrooms, I have to buy more mushrooms because I’m making this soup on repeat all fall long. It’s so easy, fast, and perfect for a weeknight meal.

Enjoy!
