No Green Beer Here!

Happy St. Patricks Day my Friends!

It may not come as a surprise to you that I rarely do beer let alone green beer. Pass. Now I’ll happily take a Stella or Peroni on a hot summer day. Other than that you’ll usually find some type of wine in my hand. I digress. Anyway…

Today, I thought it would switch up my usual Martini Moment that’s usually on Fridays and Perfectly Plated that is on Wednesdays. Because I might not be Irish but I do love a reason to celebrate. So for today’s rare Wednesday Martini Moment I made you two different cocktails if green beer just isn’t you.

The first is a version of a mimosa. Because let’s start the day out fun right?

  • Pour 2 oz of orange juice into four flutes.

  • Add in 1/2 oz vodka and stir.

  • Top with Champagne but make sure you leave some room at the top.

  • Pour in Blue Curaçao, it will settle at the bottom to make a layered look.

If you guys saw my Reel I did on Mimosas you know I usually don’t add anything to my Champagne (haha!). This recipe is delicious though and perfect to start out St. Patty’s Day!

This next one is a super delicious and easy martini.

All you do for this one is throw everything in a shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake!

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you all have a fun and safe St. Patrick’s Day!

Kicking A Bad Habit

I’m starting this new month and week with a new perspective.

As a very busy Mom my days are fast. I’m constantly running around all day as many of you can probably relate. I hurry and make food, eat standing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at my island. This is because I’m always taking care of a tiny human. I love them and taking care of them but I then realized that there are many days where I don’t actually sit down until Coco is in bed and Theo is showered. Which ends up being about 8 o’clock at night. Besides my daily run, I typically take zero time for myself.

I’ve been doing a lot of research on the French culture and came across something that really made me think. For their meals, they sit, stay off their phones, and actually enjoy the meal and the delicious food. All last week I made myself sit at my island (one of my favorite places to be and my command center). I don’t touch my phone, make a lovely meal, and actually enjoy the food I’m eating. It’s a time that’s full of kids and dogs playing and the tv on but for these 10 minutes or so I’m taking this time to really just appreciate the delicious meal in front of me.

By adding this little bit of French to my day I’ve grown to really appreciate these few minutes to myself. I’ll admit that I still stand for dinner because that’s a very busy time in this house. But oh, the difference this has made is indeed pretty cool. Give it a try.

Have a fabulous week and month of March!

A Spring Swig

Well, we’ve made it to another Friday and another Martini Moment.

Adjustments.jpeg

Now I know that we ask a random rodent when he thinks that Spring will be here and we believe him but it sure has felt like Spring weather this week. There is something about the end of February that gets me (and probably all of us) excited for the warmer season on it’s way. As always I love to cook seasonally. Along with that, I like to drink seasonally, too. This drink recipe screams Spring with the lemons and fresh Thyme.

what you do:

  • Add honey and hot water to a cocktail shaker and stir until well combined

  • Toss in blackberries and muddle

  • Add vodka and lemon juice and ice

  • Shake, shake, shake!

  • Pour into a glass over a strainer so that it will collect any blackberry bits

  • Garnish with blackberries, lemon, and fresh Thyme

We are all totally ready for Spring right? Right. Enjoy your weekend and I hope you do something fabulous! For me? Our next big job starts Sunday. Cocktails will be required.
