A Sweet Treat

Hello Friends!

I don’t know if it’s Valentine’s Day on it’s way or what but there is just something about February that makes me want to make all of the strawberry things. Today I’m sharing a super easy sweet treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.

what you need and do:

The Crust

what you do:

  1. Add all three ingredients in a food processor to mix.

  2. Put the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

  3. Press into tart pan, poke with a fork to prevent crust from rising, and bake on 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

The Filling

what you do:

  1. Add cut strawberries to a pan and in a cup add water and mix starch in. Then add to strawberries.

  2. Put the pan on low heat and stir until the mixture thickens. In the end add Agave and remove from heat. Set aside to cool.

To assemble tart

Simply add strawberry mixture to cooled tart crust and let sit in the fridge for an hour. Decorate with more strawberries or fresh mint (which I had a lack of).

I hope your Month of Love is off to a great start!

That furry rodent claims six more weeks of Winter but that just gives us more time inside to shop for Spring right?

The No Stress Dress

Happy Monday and Happy February Friends!

If you follow me on Instagram then you may know that I’ve been extremely busy. This is an absolutely slammed time of year for Contemporary Photography. In fact, our next big job starts tonight.

So as a busy person, I always feel it’s important to have pieces that you can throw on without thinking and know it looks good. Now, few things are more French than a crisp white blouse. What’s better? Making that a dress. Everyone should have a similar white dress in their closet. It will always look polished and can be thrown on in a minute. It’s also a great spring and summer staple but not only that it’s perfect as a transitional piece from winter to spring.

Now I know that there is snow out there today, so how about this is a great transitional piece too! I swapped my heels for velvet boots, added a belted sweater, with gloves of course because “It’s Winter and I have …hands!”. (Please see Confessions of a Shopaholic if you don’t get that reference, haha.)

Stay warm today!

And I hope this February brings you looks to kill, food to feed the soul, and just enough cocktails to keep creating saucy stories to talk about.

Warm, Cozy, & Boozy

It’s been pretty chilly in my neck of the woods this week. So I thought it would be a perfect time to mix up a warm drink.

For a very long time I’ve wanted to make Milled Wine. I know I’ve been talking French lately but the first time I had this delicious drink was when we were strolling around Paris. It was cold as we landed in The City of Lights on The Day of Love. February is pretty cold there too. When we were offered hot wine, I’m not going to lie I was a little confused as I never heard of it let alone tried it.

The recipe is simple and so worth making on cold Winter days.

In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a low simmer over low-medium heat. Simmer the mulled wine mixture for 15 minutes. Just don’t let the wine boil or else the alcohol will boil down too. Then remove from heat and ladle into mugs.

Enjoy your Friday!
