Roaming In Rome

Our next stop is Rome! One thing that always goes hand in hand for Rome is the architecture. No matter where you look it is a gorgeous array of beautiful buildings, famous fountains, and statues you only saw in your history books.

Local beer and pizza only made the experience that much better. Are we sick of pizza yet? Never.

In Kate Spade's book "Travel Colorfully" she recommends when in Rome, to buy a pair of colored leather gloves. Well, that is exactly what I did and I've got to say this glove store was my favorite! Just look at all of the colors! I went with green of course.

Sitting on the Spanish Steps eating Gelato and people watching was a pretty fabulous moment. Maybe not for the lady in the top left corner but certainly for us.

You can't go to Rome and not see the Coliseum!

A favorite thing that I noticed is Italians love to feed you. So when just ordering drinks they give you adorable canapés! All delicious by the way, just in case you had doubts.

We also shopped like crazy people here. Not only in just the stores we came across but we found this market too! MK loaded up on some of the softest sweaters I've ever felt and I got a Pashmina.

After an entire day of walking, shopping, and site seeing we were starving! Sitting in Vatican City, we enjoyed tortellini and linguini and were in heaven!

One more stop to go! Until next time!

Ciao Bella!

My first time in Italy won't soon be forgotten. This was our first of three stops in such a fabulous country.  The Cinque Terre, Italy is on the coast of the Italian Rivera and has five different villages. We made our way through Monterosso al MareVernazza, Corniglia, and Riomaggiore, only missing 1 of the 5 towns. Always leave something to come back for!

More espressos! Each better than the last!

One of my favorite things that always seemed to happen was when one ordered wine, the most fresh and amazing olives just showed up too.

The views here never got old. No matter where we ended up it was like I was watching the travel channel.

If there is shopping and good food to be had I'm there, and wouldn't you know we found both! This little market provided some really great purchases including some beautiful scarves!

You know that I've got to rave about the food as well! This was my first experience with a steak tar tare and it was different, unique, and so worth trying. MK opted for a pasta in red sauce and for myself, a garlic seafood dish. The seafood was the perfect thing to get since we were so close to the coast and there is nothing better than fresh seafood!

A fun fact about what became my favorite stop is that they make their own white wine that they do not distribute so you can only get it here. I'm not really a white wine person per-say but this Vino was to die for.

So when I saw this delicious morsel sitting in the window I obviously stopped. Yes, I did think it was only half of that when I placed my order and no, there were no leftovers.

I have a feeling we will be returning to this fabulous place again. Until next time Cinque Terre! Cheers!

National Handbag Day!

A very happy National Handbag Day to you! Clearly this needs addressed! October 10th is now one of my new favorite days and one that certainly deserves celebrated! Champagne late of course. In honor of this completely fabulous day I wanted to share a new and also favorite of mine. Since green is my favorite color, this stunning beauty was right up my alley. When sauntering down the streets of Rome I stumbled into a handbag shop and immediately grabbed this as if it were begging me to. Green, handmade Italian Leather. I knew I was in love and I knew it was mine. Even MK said "Seriously, you have to get that". This, coming from the guy who always says I have enough purses. It really was as special as I deep down knew it was. Every now and again a piece comes along that you know you'll have and love forever, here is mine.
