Marseille, You Say?

For as long as I can remember it has been a dream of mine to get to go to France. I just love the culture, the language and we mustn't forget the fashion! When MK and I were planning this trip and deciding where to go France was a must for me. Also just for the record, all those people who say French people aren't nice are wrong. All of the locals we ran into along the way were so sweet and accommodating. Here is the view of our first stop Marseille, France.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon a local fresh fish market and by fresh I mean directly off the boat! These fisherman were gutting the fish they had just caught and selling them to the lined up natives. I don't believe it gets any more fresh than that.

This café was the first of many food stops and one that won't soon be forgotten. If there is one thing that you should do in France it's eat a baguette and some pastries which is exactly what we did. The stereotype of French people being mean might not be true but the one about them taking their bread very seriously certainly is! It was almost comical that most every person on the street had a baguette in their handbag!

These fancy pastries were laced with chocolate and melted in your mouth. What I'd give to have the recipe!

With your baguette and pastry, a glass is champagne is pretty much required. Clearly in this photo I am in deep thought. Probably about how delicious that drink is. My dream of going to France? Well it was amplified by getting to stroll the quaint streets eating macaroons! I felt like I was in a fairytale!

After eating some amazing macaroons and champagne I was on cloud nine; and then we found the shopping district! Getting to see the current styles in Europe was just a fantastic experience. I loaded up on all the latest and took in every second of this experience.

At this point I am really thinking that there was no way the day could get any better. Then, this too good for any kind of word pizza was placed in front of me and my world as I knew it was changed. A little dramatic? Maybe. But really, this pizza was to this day my favorite of all the pizza sampling we did. A thin crust filled to the brim with prosciutto, mozzarella, parmesan, arugula, spinach, olives, and cherry tomatoes that were so fresh it almost brought a tear to my eye! Wine and pizza. I really don't know of a more complete meal.

Mk's choice was a little less involved with cheese, and sausage but was certainly packed with flavor and deliciousness. I'd fly right back here just to have these pizza's again!

One thing about the two of us is that we love hats! My Forever 21 find back in May was my go to hat all season. It went with just everything.

Marseille was just a gorgeous little fishing town full of great food and people. For as much as we packed in here, it was hard to believe we were only at the start of our adventure. Next up is Villa France...

Starting in Spain

I am so excited to share our Mediterranean venture with all of you! Well how appropriate that today is National Coffee Day and what you are witnessing is the start of our trip and my new espresso obsession! We started our European vacation in Barcelona, Spain. From the friendly locals, to the amazing food we could have easily made this our only stop. We just had a blast exploring this fantastic city...

The "Foodie" in me did a happy dance this whole entire trip! Getting to sample the cuisine of so many different places is an absolute dream for me! Below, is yes, more espresso, but also sandwiches from a local café. I picked a daring choice which was sardines and Brie cheese and MK went with a yummy potato number. I'll tell you one thing, this girl loves a sandwich! A good sandwich is basically my favorite thing. Great news for me because Europe feels the same way as there is no end to the different variety of them!

This is the famous La Rambla. It is a famous pedestrian walkway where there are shops and more food! Its the perfect place to grab a drink and do some pretty cool people watching.

Even though MK has a beer in this photo, we both share the same favorite wine which is Rijoa from Spain. Any chance I got I was grabbing a glass of my favorite Vino in the region it was from.

Here we are at Park Güell a famous park that overlooks the city and was constructed by Gaudí, a well known architect in Spain. Remember when I posted many many months ago about loving to spin? Here I go again! This very Spanish dress from Boston Proper was perfect for dancing and spinning! One of my friends saw these photos and said "You're wearing flats?!" It was quite the ordeal for me finding flats I deemed worthy for our trip. These were dressy and for the most part ok for walking.

Lamb anyone? Peppers, corn, zucchini, cabbage, tomato, cucumber, arugula, taziki-like sauce, and even fries! This dish was so fresh and unique! We had very serious thoughts of ordering one more but showed a little restraint.

You can't go to Barcelona and not go to La Sagrada Familia! It was started in 1882 and is still being constructed. We went to the top of one of the towers and the view of Spain was amazing.

Breakfast on our second day, also Mk's Birthday, was this fancy creation. Pruchitto and a creamy cheese, it was crazy delicious, a meal I'd eat over and over again.

A snack on the beach meant fresh fruit for me. MK chose this very Spanish dish. Do I actually know what it was? No. Do I regret my pick of fruit? Maybe only a little. My Prosecco? Never.

Every chance we had to stop and sample more food we were on it! I got a spinach and cheese Empanada that was so decadent and really hit the spot...for that moment.

Here we walk the streets of the Gothic District and I could only imagine the history here. I must say, Macaroons from the U.S. will never be the same after having them here! Can we talk about this incredibly adorable espresso cup?! I just love it!!

This might look a little on the crazy side but this "meat in a cup" will forever live on in our house as it was divine! We regret not taking a photo of the window where this crazy cup came from because all you saw in this little shop was different kinds of meats and thank goodness, more sandwiches! The meat we have here is their highest grade of aged Salami. I have honestly never tasted anything like this!

Once, we arrived on our ship it was time for champagne and of course I smuggled some delicious sandwiches on! If you ask me I'd say MK had a heck of a great Birthday!

Cheers, to my absolutely amazing Best Friend, Partner in Crime, and Husband. I couldn't ask for anything more.

All dolled up and headed to dinner. Our Next stop is Marcelles, France! Stay tuned...

Inside Our Wedding Attire

I feel like I blinked my eyes and two years has flown by. At the risk of sounding cliché, I must say time really does fly when you're having fun. In honor of our anniversary today and since this is indeed part fashion blog, I'm going to take you on the inside of our wedding attire.

Dress shopping is always such a fun part of the journey to the alter. I decided that my first trip to Sorrells (in Washington Pa) was going to be when I picked my dress. Surrounded by the closest women in my life, I picked the very first dress I had tried on.  Since I'm not an off the rack kind of girl the fun didn't stop there. Having a fabulous Mom as a seamstress has always worked in my favor and continues to. She added feathers, rhinestones, and her own amazing personal touch on everything.

This one was a close second but I felt it didn't show off my shape enough. That being said, I did love it and I loved the embellishment on the hip. We used that concept in my end result.

The winner! I loved how I felt in this immediately. It was the exact silhouette that I wanted.

On the night that MK and I got engaged, my Sister-In Law wasn't able to make it to the engagement but at our engagement party she had a video all ready to go saying that she had set up an appointment at the one and only Kleinfeld's. It was such an amazing experience!! Not to mention getting to be in New York in December. Which is my favorite time to be there.

The photo on the right was another adventure with her at BHLDN in Houstan, TX. She has quite the eye and snapped this photo while we were browsing all things wedding. Such a beautiful store, when planning your garb for walking down the isle the possibility's are endless.

Back to the dress and accessories. Not only did I decide on my dress that night, I also decided on my jewelry and head piece. The headpiece was one of my favorite parts of my whole look. This was also the moment I thought, maybe I should wear my hair up. I'm typically a hair down person but with the earrings and one shoulder, it needed to be up. I actually did my own hair on the big day too.

"Feather Girls"

The "Feather Girls" dresses were my accent color, Royal Blue with Kelly Green accents. Opposite of the Bridesmaids dresses. My Mom custom made these dresses for my beautiful Nieces. Ella just about stole the show when she walked down the isle elagantly tossing feathers.

The ladies also had a shoulder and hip embellishment and feathers in their bouquets.

Can't forget about the guys! They  wore tan Michael Kors suits with a subtle white pin stripe. The vest has a paisley print. Handsome group of guys right there!
