Hitting The Ground Running

Welcome to one of the busiest weekends that I've experienced in quite some time. A nonstop weekend full of hair, makeup, weddings, and a boudoir shoot. I love getting to be a part of such a special day.  Even though this weekend was more work than play, it was a blast! The wedding we had the privilege of photographing this weekend was so beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a nicer bridal party.

Sunday morning, I was at it again, doing hair, and airbrushing a beautiful bride in Leachburg. It may have been about an hour and a half to get there but what's better than jamming to some of your favorite music with the top down?

Without taking a second to breathe, had a trial run with an August bride, followed then by a Boudoir shoot.

I've always been a fan of hats, good thing I wear a lot of them!

Have an event coming up? Look like you just stepped off the beach by mixing liquid bronzer with a firming body cream, then massage it into your arms. It'll temporarily tighten your skin and give it a sunkissed glow.

Until next time...

Beautifying The Bride

What day is it? Where am I? It's official, MK and I have entered our busy season. Along with he and I doing photography for weddings, as you know I offer hair and makeup as well. This past weekend, we were at The Oak Lodge for Joelle and Darryl's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and I'm always happy to lend a hand with hair and then make the quick switch to photographer.

Here's a little tip that I tell all of my Brides, if you are ever getting your hair done for a special occasion always wear a wrap, zip, or button up. That way, you hair and makeup stays in tact.

N'awlins

When I asked MK for a hint about where we were going on our trip he said "Great Food!" Well that could really be anywhere but once we got to New Orleans and started eating, I really understood what he meant because the food was to die for! One of my favorite things in the world is seeing the culture of other places and of course their cuisine. The Foodie in me was in heaven; from famous Po Boys to even more famous Beignets at Cafe Du Monde, you could basically close your eyes and point to a menu and you wouldn't be disappointed.

Oyster Po Boy ordered at the advice of our waitress.

 Jambalaya!

Cafe Du Monde only serves Beignets and coffee and you'll be lucky if you find a seat.

When booking this trip MK said it was an absolute requirement to stay in a hotel that had the infamous New Orleans balconys. Not only was this hotel beautiful inside and out but the service was fabulous.

Both of us being photographers, when we saw our balcony we couldn't stop taking photos there.

That's Bourbon Street right behind us.

Being a dancer my whole life, I often fight the urge to strike a pose. Often times I loose that battle.

Where else can you see a random parade in the middle of the day for absolutely no reason? Here of course! Such an amazing trip and of course I couldn't leave without getting a Bloody Mary!
