Let’s Bowl

Hey, hey, Friends! Happy Wednesday!

It might seem a little cliché to eat healthy at the start of a new year but it’s more of a lifestyle for me and I’ve been seeing a lot of bashing at the moment online about already not making the goals you set. Rude. Every single day is a new day and if you’re at least trying then good for you.

Two things about me: I’m typically a very healthy eater and I’m an over preparer. I also discovered last year that eating a mostly plant based diet makes me feel so good for a number of reasons. I experimented a lot with that way of living last summer. I have one day a week where I eat whatever I feel like. But I think dairy is out to get me.

Anyway. I meal prep on Sunday’s much of the time. If you’re trying to get a little healthier or would just like to save time, throwing together a lunch bowl is a very easy way to eat a healthy, fast lunch. Today I’m sharing one of my absolute favorites.

what you do:

  1. Roast sweet potatoes and broccoli in the oven on about 400. Let them cook until the sweet potatoes are tender.

  2. With the edamame, I took the easy way out and just made a frozen bag of them.

  3. For the chickpeas, I used some that were already roasted to save time. But you can always roast them yourself too.

  4. Lastly throw everything together and split up evenly if you’re meal prepping. Add the avocado right before eating.

Life hack? I always have avocado cups in the fridge for things such as this.

This meal is very filling and easy to throw together. Which is what we all need, right? Healthy and fast is the name of my game. Except when it’s decadent and slow. Ha. Typical Gemini here.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Let’s Do This, 2023!

Happy 2023 my dear Friends!

I don’t know about you but I for one am pretty thrilled (as I always am) to welcome a new year. We always hit the ground running in January as we start our seemingly never ending “busy season” with the photo biz. But, I still try to, as I fondly call it “get my creative out” and still blog while working some crazy hours in this fabulous first month.

I do this post every year as kind of an outline of what my hopes are for The Fast Fashionista in the coming year. I thought long and hard about it and then it came to me. Stop overthinking it (my specialty). My fashion and lifestyle part of Fast Fash is simply going to be fast and easy ways to add just a little glam, sparkle, and …fizz to your everyday life. No matter what that looks like. Simple ways to elevate life.

The Perfectly Plated part of my blog is something I enjoy deeply. Few things I love more than drinking wine in my kitchen and cooking. Sharing that with you is always such a bonus. I love fancy food made easy and would love to continue to do that with my French loving flair drizzled in.

Oh, cocktails…

Such an early love of mine. I started bartending at age 18 I immediately fell in love with mixing drinks. “My Martini Moment” has taken on many different shapes in the close to nine years I’ve had this blog. I love creating and making cocktails, even more, sharing them. This is a skill I’m always trying to get better at.

As always, thank you for being here, wether you’re new to this site, a loyal follower, or tune in every now and again. Thank you, thank you, and thank you! I often get asked why I don’t monetize this blog. The simple answer? I don’t want to. All I want is to share my creative vibes with you. That’s enough for me.

My wish for you is that this new year brings you endless happiness, nothing but delicious food, and dazzling drinks with only the very best company.

Cheers to you and yours!

The Black Flame Candle

But…who…lit the Black Flame Candle?

Happy Hocus Pocus Day!

I did the math and realized I was FIVE when this movie came out. Yikes. Anyways, in the era of reboots and sequels (lets hope this one is better for SJP) here we are as Hocus Poucs 2 makes it’s debut. I thought it was a perfect time for a cocktail to match the day.

what you do:

  1. Muddle the blackberries and butterfly pea tea powder until mixed.

  2. Add rum and fresh lime juice.

  3. Shake, shake, shake!

  4. Strain into glass of your choice. I love a coupe so that what I chose.

5. Garnish with lime. But here is how you make the flame:

Take one half of your juiced lime and add a sugar cube to the middle and hit it with a little bit of rum and add your fire.

It wont last long but it’s cute while its there. I did the garnish first and poured the cocktail around it.

So, Happy October Eve my Friends. I hope you enjoy it. Stay tuned because for each Friday of October I’ll be sharing a spooky drink.
