For The Girl On The Go

There have been many times in my life where I’ve been on the go a lot. I’ve always loved to work and when I started making my own money I felt so good about it. So at one point I would work three of my jobs in one day. What did that look like? I started with being the day time bartender and waitress at a restaurant that’s now closed, I’d then move to cheer coaching, after that I’d end my day with working in a clothing store that, actually, now is also closed. As you can imagine I needed to be prepared as far as having anything I may need throughout the day.

Fast forward to just about twelve years later and I’m a very on the go Mom. Helping run a very busy photography company, mothering a two year old, and traveling back and forth to Pittsburgh (about an hour and a half from me) to see Colette (she’s still figuring out how to eat and can then come home).
Back when I was younger I started carry a bunch of things with me that I may need. Just in case. I never really stopped doing that and tweak my list of things accordingly too.
Here is my current on the go kit:

Weekday Wonders

Hello, hello!

It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for “Perfectly Plated”. I did a poll on Instagram a while back asking you what you wanted to see more of : Fast Recipes, Kitchen Hacks, Hosting, and Food How-To’s. They were ranked:

Fast Recipes

Food How-To’s

Kitchen Hacks

Hosting

I’ll be doing it all but since Fast Recipes were the most requested I made a super delicious, healthy, and most importantly a fast weekday dinner. Not only is it fast but it’s versitile too. Great for entertaining or just for a weeknight meal.

Chicken Caprese

What you need:

Chicken breast

Pesto (homemade or bought)

Tomatoes

Mozzarella (I use fresh but it doesn’t really matter)

What you do:

All you do for this one is preheat the oven at 375, put the desired amount of chicken in a baking dish, cover in garlic and whatever spices you love. For me it’s Italian, Oregano, and more garlic. Then, top with pesto, cheese, and then tomato. If you’re a right side of the dish person that is. MK all about the side with zero tomato. That’s it! Then just let it cook for about 35-40 minutes. So easy. This is so great because you can throw it in the oven on a random Wednesday night or make it for company and look a little fancy for not a lot of effort.

Let’s face the facts.

It isn’t Tuesday and we are closer to Friday, right?

Build Around

I’m going to be honest I don’t trust anything about a Tuesday. Too precarious. So I’m not even going to say happy Tuesday or anything like that because they just scare me.

Insert nervous laughter…

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite styling tips that saves me every Single time i go to put an outfit together.

Picture this. You’re running around trying to put together a great outfit and in about three minutes you’re area of getting ready looks like a tornado went through. We’ve all been there right? I know I have more than I care to admit. But here is what I’ve learned to do. Find a piece that you love. It could be a beautiful pair of shoes, great pants, or even just something you’ve been waiting to wear for a while. Build around that specific piece. For example, this gold coat is one of my favorite THINGS right now for many reasons but when I was putting together this outfit I had it in mind and build the outfit around this piece.

It’s a very simple tip but one I use constantly. Think about it the next time you are in a rush (for me always) and need a quick look. Just grab something you love and build around it!

I hope this Tuesday is lovely for you and not at all scary…
