My Martini Moment

Capri in a Cup

Hey Fab Friends!

Every time I sip Limoncello I am immediately transported to the Amalfi Coast in Capri where I had tried it for the first time. I was blown away! If you aren’t into sipping an Aperol Spritz this summer, try one of these delicious limoncello drinks! They are really fast and completely hit the spot on a hot summer day.

what you do:

Simply add limoncello, vodka, and lemon juice to your chosen glass and then top with champagne and garnish. Then immediately head to the patio to enjoy!

This has really been my summertime cocktail. So refreshing. Garnishing it with fresh basil really adds another fresh element.

Next up!

Another easy one. And here is what you do: add equal parts : limoncello, vodka, and lemonade and throw those over ice and enjoy!

These drinks are perfect for wrapping up another summer in the sun. I hope after reading this you head to the store for some limoncello! I also hope that this fabulous Friday meets you with a some fun and a delicious, chilled cocktail!

Dulling the Pain of Rain…

Happy Friday! We made it!

My last post included fresh basil and I couldn’t help but stay on the same page and make a drink that uses it. In my neck of the woods, we do not have a very pleasant forecast this weekend. Sometimes the only thing to fix multiple dreary days is a cocktail. The plus side? At least it’s spring. This drink absolutely screams spring, and it dulls the pain of the rain. It’s so fresh and so delicious.

I’m keeping this fast this fine Friday…

what you do:

Throw basil, cucumber, and lime juice to a shaker and muddle. Then, just add lemonade and vodka and shake, shake, shake! Pour over your glass of choice with ice and garnish with lime, cucumber, or both.

Side note: It’s absolutely shocking what I do to my kitchen while making the easiest of drinks. Like how do I destroy it all every single time?

Anyway, have a wonderful weekend! Avoid the rain and negative thoughts and maybe have a cocktail or two.

Add Some Heat

Hey, hey! Happy Friday Pretties!

Making cocktails is so much more to me than throwing together a drink. I love to play with flavors and see what works and maybe what doesn’t. I had a whole different drink planned for this week but I simply had to share this one. Catching myself craving a spicy watermelon margarita, I knew it just had to be the drink this week.

Let’s start with the syrup. I love to concoct all kinds of different syrups for drinks and this one is pretty amazing.

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/4 cup sugar (or Stevia)

  • 1/2 jalapeño, chopped

  • Sprig of fresh Rosemary

  • A few dashes of Tajin

Simply bring to a boil and let simmer for a few minutes.

Now, get everything you’ll need out:

(I usually use Cointreau for my orange flavored liquor but just ran out so had to use silly Triple Sec)

what you do:

  1. Throw a few pieces of watermelon and jalapeño in a shaker and muddle.

  2. Add ice, booze, lime juice, and simple syrup.

  3. Shake, shake, shake!

  4. Rim the glass with Tajin, garnish with jalapeño and lime.

  5. Fill glass with ice (I had to settle for not cute ice because my very cute ice unexpectedly …melted), and strain into the chosen glass.

    Enjoy your weekend! Cheers!
