Blue Hues

Many times when you think of blue eye shadow your mind goes straight to the 80's when it was socially acceptable to wear crazy bright blue on your eyes. Well that is one reason I'm glad I missed most of that time period.

Today I'm wearing blues and wanted to change up my normal go-to brown shadow look. When going for this look always keep your lip color toned down. Like a nude or pastel. One tip for blue colors is to always use an eyelid primed because once blue is applied to bare skin it can easily take on a different color. Plus, as always it will stay much longer.

Make sure to use at least a light and darker color, the darker goes in your crease. When you are totally finished, add a little white shadow to the corner of your eyes to really make those babies POP!

An Added Bonus

Being that I work in the jewelry business and Mothers Day is just around the corner, this has been a busy week so far. Lots to do! Today was the first nice day in a while so MK and I did a little unwinding on our patio.

It's pretty safe to say that I've been drawn to stripes lately. I'm loving the diversity of an outfit with black and white stripes and what you can do with it. Adding some pink to this look really brought it to life.

I am combining a lot of Kate Spade ideas today:

  • A well-placed bow-  "...bows can be so elegant and yet have a sense of humor too"
  • Black and white-  "Black and white is always right!"
  • A pop of color-  "Think Pink!!"

Finishing the look off with my favorite pink shoes and a glad of wine. Cheers!

Saturday Chic

A black and white stripe is so amazingly flexible. You can easily add color or patterns. One of my favorite outfits includes a leopard scarf and black and white striped top because I love to mix and match. Today, I was really liking the cool tones with this outfit. Not to mention this is one of my favorite scarves.

By the way, here is my sassy chihuahua Donatella, if you haven't met her yet.
