Punch It Up

Hiiii Friends! I do hate a Tuesday! Haha.

Fashion doesn’t need to be complicated and it doesn’t need to be hard. But it does have to be you. I suppose you could say this is a more casual look for me but I brought the look up with color. This is a super easy way to add some punch to any outfit. If you’ve followed me for even a minute you probably know that green is my favorite color and this surly isn’t the only time you’ve seen me in this piece …

Adding some faux leather color to any winter outfit will punch up any look. Also think about the color wheel. I love green so red is on the opposite side of the wheel meaning they’re complimentary colors. This is a point they really drove home when I was in “hair school”. I use the color wheel in my daily life but it doesn’t need to be complicated. Yellow and purple, orange and blue, it’s up to you. Have fun with it!

My point? Enjoy fashion, enjoy your style, and make the most of it. Love colors and appreciate them. That’s all.

I hope your Tuesday brings you zero havoc…

Fizzy, Fast, & French

We finally made it to Friday, Friends!

It’s only appropriate that the first drink I share this year contains a little Champagne. This fun cocktail is equal parts fancy and fast! It’s a take on the classic French 75.

This, my friends, is The French 77!

In this recipe we replace the gin with St. Germain and you also don’t use any simple syrup. St. Germain (elderflower liqueur) is very sweet and balances out the lemon and champs.

what you do:

Add St. Germain and lemon juice to a shaker with ice.

Shake, shake, shake!

Top with your desired champs and garnish with a lemon twist.

This chic drink is perfect for entertaining. It gives the fun of shaking up a drink but it also being fast and not time consuming. It’s also bubbly and delicious!

Enjoy your weekend! I hope it’s full of fun and fizz!

Let’s Bowl

Hey, hey, Friends! Happy Wednesday!

It might seem a little cliché to eat healthy at the start of a new year but it’s more of a lifestyle for me and I’ve been seeing a lot of bashing at the moment online about already not making the goals you set. Rude. Every single day is a new day and if you’re at least trying then good for you.

Two things about me: I’m typically a very healthy eater and I’m an over preparer. I also discovered last year that eating a mostly plant based diet makes me feel so good for a number of reasons. I experimented a lot with that way of living last summer. I have one day a week where I eat whatever I feel like. But I think dairy is out to get me.

Anyway. I meal prep on Sunday’s much of the time. If you’re trying to get a little healthier or would just like to save time, throwing together a lunch bowl is a very easy way to eat a healthy, fast lunch. Today I’m sharing one of my absolute favorites.

what you do:

  1. Roast sweet potatoes and broccoli in the oven on about 400. Let them cook until the sweet potatoes are tender.

  2. With the edamame, I took the easy way out and just made a frozen bag of them.

  3. For the chickpeas, I used some that were already roasted to save time. But you can always roast them yourself too.

  4. Lastly throw everything together and split up evenly if you’re meal prepping. Add the avocado right before eating.

Life hack? I always have avocado cups in the fridge for things such as this.

This meal is very filling and easy to throw together. Which is what we all need, right? Healthy and fast is the name of my game. Except when it’s decadent and slow. Ha. Typical Gemini here.

Thanks for stopping by today!
