Cocktail In A Box

Happy Friday!

We’ve made it to another weekend! That means its time for a drink! For me at least. Especially after the week I’ve had. As you may know I am very, very not into pushing products on you. I always want my blog to just be a fun stop along the way of your reading or scrolling. However, when I come across a product or company that I really think is cool, then I’m all about sharing that with you!

Today I’m talking about a cocktail in a box “The American Cocktail Company”. Guys, they’re amazing! A box shows up to your house with a built in cocktail! They have amazing mixers to enhance your drink experience. You can sign up for a “Cocktail of the Month Club”, try out delicious mixers, or find great new bar ware! I’m a pretty huge fan of the “Everything Box”. It has, well, everything you need to make the perfect cocktail. I got to make “The Mango Escape” and it was absolutely delicious!

An Unexpected Pairing

With a strong, strong coffee in hand I say hello there!

I’m all about an impromptu gathering!

Don’t get me wrong I love to sit down and create an entire party menu and come up with different things too. But for today’s “Perfectly Plated” I’m talking about a fast, unexpected pairing that is perfect to not only entertain quickly but also raise an eyebrow.

What’s one thing that (for the most part) is a universal crowd pleaser? Burgers. Sure, it might not be everyone’s thing but you’ll know your crowd. Sliders are great because they are something that can be easily walked around with, easily made, and all around no fuss.

Now on to the cocktail. I recently talked about adding St. Germain to my bar and if you haven’t yet, do it! Simply fill a champagne flute 1/3 of the way with St. Germain and fill the rest with Champagne. Stir it very gently and you’re all set!

Why this works:

The champagne and St. Germain and meat in the sliders compliment each other perfectly!

I hope you enjoy this unique pairing and maybe you’ll throw it together for a quick gathering. It’s sure to please!

Happy Thursdaying!

Sharing Some Styling

Hello Friends!

One thing I am in a constant state of doing is styling something and then restyling it again. For our sixth wedding anniversary one of the things MK got me was a green velvet tufted ottoman for my dressing room. I was and still am madly in love with it. It’s the perfect pop over color in my black and white room.

Well obviously this gorgeous ottoman needed some love. But honestly it took me a while to land on a look I loved as much as this piece. So I’ve been messing with it…for about a year and a half. But we get busy and sidetracked and #momlife takes over. I’ve finally gotten to a place where I like my ottoman look enough to share my styling. Will it stay this way? Probably not. But I’m sharing three tips that I use when styling an ottoman or coffee table situation.

  1. Use books. They give you height which is important.

2. Get something tall. Playing with different heights is pleasing to the eye.

3. Have something medium height. I chose the Mackenzie Childs Crowned Crow. He’s the mascot of my dressing room.

4. Throwing in a candle never hurts.

5. Wine. Because you never know when you’ll need a glass. It’s all about being prepared people.

Well it’s Monday again. All I have to say is I hope yours is full of style, and lacking any irritation that a Monday can sometimes hold.
