White Out

Hello again, Friends!

Now that I don’t have crippling “morning” but all day sickness, extreme exhaustion, not on vacation or suffering from a completely blinding sinus infection...I’m back. It’s been a tough couple of months but I’m feeling slightly refreshed and ready for our upcoming summer.

Speaking of summer because it (officially) comes very soon I thought this was the perfect time to focus on this Dior Dictionary Word which is White! But where to start on this one? Even though Dior doesn’t touch on this I will. Call me old fashioned but I stick to the rules of white that “The Greats” created. I wear it after Memorial Day and put it away after Labor Day (excluding winter white of course). In a time of fashion where anything goes and everyone needing to be comfortable at all moments, I feel this “rule” is sacred. Plus, it makes wearing it that much more special.

I so agree that white not only matches everything but also gives an impression of good grooming and being well dressed.

For my white look, I did my own take on a look from Emily in “A Simple Favor”. While she may have been the villain (hey I’ve always had a soft spot for the villains) , her style was much to emulate. Along for her love of a perfect martini (sigh...). Don’t think I didn’t want to run out and buy a stylish cane to go with this look. But that might have been a bit much even for me. But she sure did make an amazing case for menswear. I wanted to run out and buy all the suits!

I think when it comes to white every woman should have a crisp white suit in their wardrobe. There’s no way to look more chic in a flash. Shirt underneath optional.

Have a great Monday!

Sweet & Seasonal

Fast Fash is going to be pretty sporadic until June because I’m so extremely busy. Having said that I’m hopping on when I can.

When I cook or bake I have so much fun making things that are seasonal. In this case it’s all about the Strawberru Rhubarb! I’ve actually never made anything with it before so I was really excited to give it a try. Plus I love me a tart. I made this for Mother’s Day this past Sunday.

Very Strawberry Tart

(to make this recipe a little more fast I used pie crust that was already made. But feel free to make your own.)

What You Need:

3/4 cup sugar

2 tbsp flour

2 cups strawberry

2 cups rhubarb

1 tbsp lemon juice

What You Do:

Preheat oven to 350. Press your dough into your tart pan, make a few pricks at the bottom, and then put it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. While that’s in there, mix everything else together in a bowl. Once the tart is ready to come out of the freezer fill it wit your strawberry mixture. In a small bowl mix 1/3 cup of oats, 1 tbsp flour, and five tbsp butter and sprinkle on top of tart. Then just pop it in the oven for about 50 minutes.

Enjoy your delicious spring time tart!

Leopard Timelessness

Hello Friends!

To say we’ve been busy would be a huge understatement! Between our photo biz and Theo Shane I’ve had zero time to do anything. And May is only shaping up to be even busier. But it’s my Birthday Month so that’s exciting.

I’m back this Monday with The Dior Fashion Word of the week!

Leopard-1.jpg

Now obviously in this case Dior is talking about actual fur. Which for me I’m only a faux fur girl. But one thing is absolutely for sure about this amazing print is that it’s not going anywhere.

Leopard is hands down my favorite print. It’s versatile and always stylish. I have a lot of it in my closet so it was a little hard as to which to feature but I thought my leopard blazer was perfect. Since I’m always on the go and somethings need to grab an outfit and run a blazer can always save the day.

This was on a shoot and I always like to look out together when I’m working even if I have to be moving a lot or holding Theo, so this was the perfect piece to add to the look. The best part about leopard is that it goes with just about everything!

Enjoy the final days of April!

As far as I’m concerned, leopard is a netural
